Job Summary:
Responsible for conducting thorough inspections of commercial properties to assess building conditions, identify maintenance and safety concerns, document findings, and provide clear inspection reports. Works closely with Property Managers, vendors, and clients to communicate issues and help ensure properties are properly maintained, safe, and compliant.
Please Note:
This position requires out-of-state travel for one week in the spring and one week in the fall. All travel and related expenses are covered by the company. Applicants must also be able to comply with standard rental car company requirements when traveling on company business.
Essential Functions:
1. Performs on-site physical inspection of properties and structures with detail and accuracy. 2. Documents and maintains written record of physical inspection with detailed notes and photographs. 3. Drafts inspection reports using report template. 4. Verbally communicates results of physical inspection to supervisor and/or team.
Preferred Education and Experience:
1. Previous experience in commercial property, construction, maintenance, facilities, building operations, or a related field preferred. 2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel 3. Working knowledge of professional digital camera equipment, includes but not limited to: changing batteries and memory card
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
1. Must possess a valid driver's license and must have a clean driving record for at least five years. 2. Ability to work effectively independently and in a cohesive team atmosphere with all areas. 3. Must comply to work in a safety aware environment. 4. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. 5. Conform to dress and safety policies. 6. Ability to complete all necessary paperwork on time - time sheets, various inspection reports, etc. 7. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. 8. Comply with safety standards and regulations.
Work Environment:
The employee will be expected to work outside in various weather conditions and must have suitable clothing conducive to the work environment. In accordance with federal and state laws and applicable safety regulations, employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration and noise levels. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 1. Frequent standing, walking on foot to accomplish tasks, bending, kneeling and climbing (e.g., stairs, ladders). Frequent driving of a vehicle to move from one work site to another. Occasional kneeling, stooping, crouching and pushing. 2. The employee must have the ability to work outdoors in temperatures from over 110 degrees in the summer to below freezing in the winter. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This position is part-time with potential to grow into full-time. Outside of inspecting commercial properties, this position is remote.
