Combination Inspector

General Definition and Conditions of Work:

Performs inspections of residential structures to ensure compliance with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code. Performs inspections related to stormwater management and erosion and sediment control.

Essential Functions/Typical Tasks:

Assists with clerical work including completion of reports and notices, answering telephones, interaction with contractors, property owners, developers, and representatives of other local, state, or federal agencies, both in the field and in the office. Conducts field inspections of residential building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems at various stages of construction and renovation. Ensures compliance with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC) and other applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
