Job Title:
Construction Quality Inspector Job Description A Construction Quality Inspector ensures construction projects adhere to plans, specifications, and regulations. This role involves conducting inspections, assessing materials, and documenting findings, all while requiring strong communication and problem-solving skills. The manager plays a crucial role in maintaining quality, safety, and compliance throughout the construction process. Responsibilities Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, ensuring adherence to approved plans, specifications, and relevant codes. Evaluate the quality and suitability of construction materials, including concrete, steel, and other components. Verify compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards. Maintain detailed records of inspections, including photographs, reports, and test results. Prepare comprehensive reports detailing inspection findings, including any deviations or non-conformances. Communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders regarding inspection results and necessary corrective actions. Identify potential issues and collaborate with project teams to develop effective solutions. Conduct or oversee field and laboratory tests on materials to assess their quality and performance. Essential Skills Understanding of construction methods, materials, and relevant codes and standards. Meticulous attention to detail in inspections and documentation. Strong communication skills for conveying findings and recommendations. Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues. Proficiency in using tools for measurement and inspection, such as calipers, micrometers, and testing equipment. Thorough understanding of safety protocols and regulations. Additional Skills & Qualifications 8-10 years of experience in construction or quality control. A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Prefer a degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or sufficient experience. Work Environment Work is primarily conducted on construction sites, but also involves laboratories, offices, and project meetings. The role requires 100% onsite presence with a typical schedule of 40 hours per week. A laptop with Bluebeam installed is necessary for this position. The project is ground-up with a potential for extension. A per diem of $1,000 per month is provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Boydton, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
