Headquartered in Fredericksburg, Virginia, we serve clients throughout the Commonwealth and beyond We are looking for a Construction Field Technician to join our Construction Materials Testing (CMT) team. This is a hands-on, outdoor position working on active construction sites to help verify that roads, buildings, and infrastructure are built correctly. No prior testing experience is required — we provide training and pay for industry certifications. This position is a great opportunity for someone interested in starting a career in construction, engineering, or infrastructure inspection. What You'll Do Travel to construction sites in the Fredericksburg region to perform field testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials Work alongside contractors, engineers, and inspectors on active construction projects Perform basic field tests using specialized equipment and industry procedures Document test results and site observations using a tablet or field reports Communicate with project managers and field supervisors regarding testing needs or site conditions Maintain and properly use testing equipment while following safety standards What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent Interest in construction, engineering, or field work Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift up to 85 pounds and remain active throughout the workday Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license with reliable transportation Previous construction experience is helpful but not required. Employees in this role will have the opportunity to obtain industry certifications including ACI, VDOT, OSHA, and other professional testing credentials, all provided by the company.
