Job Description

PURPOSE Responsible for safely operating cranes to lift, move and position materials and equipment on constructions sites. This role requires strict adherence to safety regulations, effective communication with ground personnel and compliance with California state and federal standards. Operate mobile cranes to lift, move, and place materials according to site plans and lift requirements Inspect cranes and equipment daily to ensure safe operation and report any defects or maintenance needs Interpret load charts, lift plans, and signals from signal persons Maintain constant awareness of site conditions, including weather, ground stability, and overhead hazards Follow all applicable safety regulations, including OSHA and California-specific requirements Coordinate with site supervisors and other crew members to ensure safe and efficient lifts Secure loads properly and ensure all outfitting is appropriate for the lift Shut down and secure equipment when not in use Maintain accurate daily logs and inspection records
KNOWLEDGEEXPERIENCE
Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle Must have a high school diploma or equivalent Valid CDL Must pass a DOT Physical Extensive knowledge of vehicle inspections, safe driving practices for large vehicles, cargo handling and traffic regulations Experience in proper operation of complex features like air brakes, while also possessing substantial experience maneuvering large trucks in various road conditions, including backing up, parking in tight spaces, and navigating challenging terrains.
