CAD Draftsman - Crane Operations

Southern Lifting and Hoisting is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Draftsman to support crane, rigging, and heavy lift operations in our Midland office. This role is responsible for creating accurate drawings and documentation that help projects move from planning to safe execution. This position supports engineering, operations, and customers by preparing lift plans, machinery installation drawings, and supporting design documents. This role plays an important part in helping operations teams and customers align before equipment arrives on site. What You'll Do Use 2D/3D AutoCAD to develop lift plans, machinery installations, and supporting designs Maintain organized drawing files and execution documents Meet with clients as needed to discuss job scope and field measure job sites Support planning efforts with accurate drawings and revisions Assemble drawing packages with required project details Adapt quickly to job changes and revised scopes Communicate with internal teams and customers regarding drawing updates What You Need to Succeed Experience using AutoCAD required Experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Design Drafting, or related discipline preferred, not required Crane, rigging, construction, or related industry experience is a plus A Day in the Life This role may involve building lift drawings, revising plans based on changing job scopes, organizing project files, and supporting teams with documentation needed for upcoming jobs.
