Shoring & Micropile Drill Operator Young Construction Services Montrose, Colorado Full-Time Young Construction Services is seeking an experienced Shoring & Micropile Drill Operator to join our team. This position is ideal for an experienced operator who is comfortable working with specialized drilling equipment and performing shoring, micropile, and deep foundation work in a variety of jobsite conditions. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of safety and production, and can work effectively with a field crew to complete challenging projects throughout Colorado and the surrounding region. Responsibilities Operate drilling equipment used for micropile, shoring, and deep foundation installations Perform drilling for micropiles, soldier piles, tiebacks, anchors, and other shoring applications as required by the project Set up, position, and safely operate drill rigs in varying terrain and restricted-access conditions Read and follow project plans, drilling layouts, elevations, and field instructions Monitor drilling conditions, depths, pressures, tooling, and equipment performance Assist with casing installation, reinforcement, grouting, and other micropile installation activities Perform daily equipment inspections and routine preventative maintenance Identify mechanical or operational issues and communicate necessary repairs Maintain accurate daily production and equipment records Work closely with foremen, project managers, laborers, and other operators Follow company safety procedures Maintain an organized, safe, and productive work area Assist with mobilization, demobilization, equipment setup, and general jobsite operations as needed Qualifications Previous experience operating drill rigs for micropile, shoring, geotechnical, or foundation work strongly preferred Heavy equipment operating experience required Knowledge of drilling methods, tooling, casing, and ground conditions preferred Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment in the field Ability to work safely around heavy equipment, suspended loads, and active construction operations Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions Ability to perform physically demanding work when necessary Valid driver's license and reliable transportation CDL is a plus Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a crew Must be willing to travel for out-of-town projects as required What We're Looking For We are looking for more than someone who can simply operate specialty equipment. The right candidate understands that specialized drilling requires attention to detail, good judgment, mechanical awareness, and teamwork . Experience with micropile installation, shoring systems, foundation drilling, soil nails, tiebacks, or similar geotechnical construction is highly valued. Candidates with extensive heavy-equipment experience and a strong interest in learning specialized drilling operations are also encouraged to apply.

Compensation Pay:

$30.00-$42.00 per hour, depending on experience $100/day travel per diem for qualifying out-of-town projects Overtime opportunities Training and advancement opportunities Long-term employment with opportunities to grow within the company Schedule & Travel This is a full-time position. Typical schedules will vary depending on project requirements. Overtime, early starts, extended shifts, and travel may be required. This position requires travel for certain projects. A $100/day per diem is provided for qualifying out-of-town work.
