Bore Operator

Summary We are looking to add an experienced Bore Operator to our team. Responsible for operating directional drilling equipment, including the 3650 Vermeer inner rod system, with a high level of proficiency. This role leads field operations, coordinates crew activities, and ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and a proven track record in underground utility installation. Responsibilities Operate directional drilling equipment safely and with precision. Lead and coordinate locators and laborers to meet daily production goals. Interpret bore plans, utility maps, and job specifications. Monitor bore path, drilling fluid, and equipment performance. Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant job site at all times. Identify and mitigate job site risks, including existing utilities. Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on drilling equipment. Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, crew members, and customers. Assist with traffic control and general site setup as needed. Complete required training, including OSHA and company programs. Requirements 3+ years of directional drilling experience (Vermeer systems preferred). Proven ability to operate drill equipment independently. Strong understanding of underground utility installation and bore planning. Experience reading and interpreting job plans and locates. Leadership experience directing or coordinating a crew. Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and job site safety practices. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical labor. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required; CDL preferred. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Pay:

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
