Wage:

$22- $30 DOE Job description: Gundrilling uses a specialized machine to drill extremely straight holes with a high depth-to-diameter ratio. A gun drill machinist involves the precise operation of specialized deep-hole drilling equipment. Operate, and maintain gun-drill machine to produce precise holes in special alloy bars Setting up machines with appropriate tooling and work-holding fixtures. Operating machinery, monitoring drilling processes, and adjusting settings to maintain tolerances. Performing quality control checks on finished parts using precision measuring instruments. Routine maintenance and troubleshooting of drilling equipment. Adhering to safety protocols and documenting work.

Prerequisites:

Experience with precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers) for quality assurance. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is standard, with vocational training, an apprenticeship, or an associate degree in machining a strong preference.

Personal Attributes:

Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are desirable.

Pay:

$22.00 - $30.00 per hour
