Overview Join our dynamic team as an Experienced Directional Driller / Locator and take the lead in underground utility installation and maintenance projects. Pay Is Based on Experience Responsibilities Operate directional drilling equipment with precision to install underground Fiber lines according to project specifications. Conduct utility locating using specialized equipment to accurately identify existing underground infrastructure before drilling or excavation begins. Maintain and troubleshoot construction machinery including loaders, excavators, dozers, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and paving equipment to ensure optimal performance. Follow all federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures to create a safe work environment for yourself and team members. Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment and construction machinery to prevent breakdowns and extend operational lifespan. Assist with construction site activities such as excavation, grading, utility trenching, and paving while adhering to project timelines. Operate various construction vehicles including Bobcat, Ditch Witch equipment like and excavators vacs and drills; trucks for material transport. Support construction utility work by coordinating with team members to ensure accurate installation and compliance with safety standards. Document daily operations, safety inspections, and project progress accurately for reporting purposes. Experience Proven experience operating directional drilling rigs and utility locating equipment in a construction environment. Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, (such as Caterpillar), loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and adherence to OSHA standards related to heavy machinery operation and excavation work. Construction site experience with utility installation, excavation techniques, grading practices, and general construction procedures. Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting issues promptly on-site. Ability to perform commercial truck driving including safe operation of large vehicles like dump trucks or water trucks when required. Skilled in horizontal directional drilling techniques for underground utility installation in various soil conditions.
