Job Description
About the Project DNA Fiber LLC is staffing an underground fiber optic construction project in western North Carolina. This is a federally funded / NCDOT-related project subject to Davis-Bacon prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements. Responsibilities Operate vibratory plow and/or trencher to install underground conduit to specified depth of cover Verify and respect 811 utility locate markings; maintain safe clearances from existing utilities Read and follow construction prints, route maps, and project specifications Maintain accurate depth of cover throughout each run and report any deviation Document work daily with photos in the project's field documentation platform (OX) Identify and report rock, cobble, or unforeseen conditions before proceeding Perform daily equipment inspections, greasing, and basic field maintenance Support site restoration and cleanup Work safely in and around active roadways, following all traffic control requirements Wear required PPE at all times Requirements Verifiable experience operating a vibratory plow, trencher, or similar underground utility equipment Valid driver's license and clean driving record (CDL a plus) Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed Reliable and punctual; must be available for full-day schedules and occasional Saturdays Prior fiber optic or underground utility experience strongly preferred Compensation & Schedule Prevailing wage paid per the applicable Davis-Bacon wage determination for this project Weekly pay; workweek runs Sunday through Saturday Overtime paid per federal and state law W-2 employment (this is not a 1099 position)
