York, PA (Travel Required)
Schedule:
4x10s,
Monday-Thursday Travel:
Overnight travel Monday-Thursday with hotel accommodations provided. Return home after work on Thursdays.
Job Type:
Full-Time. We are seeking an experienced Directional Drill Operator to join a growing utility construction team. This position involves traveling to job sites throughout the region, operating horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment, and installing underground utilities safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Operate horizontal directional drill (HDD) equipment safely and efficiently. Operate locator equipment and accurately track the drill head throughout the bore. Perform potholing and verify existing underground utilities before drilling. Plan bore paths while avoiding existing utilities and underground obstacles. Mix drilling fluids based on ground conditions. Complete pullbacks using the appropriate reamers, swivels, and tooling. Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Assist with other job site duties as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. At least 1 year of directional drilling (HDD) experience . Experience operating drill rigs and locator equipment. Ability to read utility markings and distinguish utility flag colors. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a crew. CDL Class A or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire. OSHA 10 certification preferred. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of HDD experience. Experience training or mentoring others. Utility construction experience in telecommunications, fiber, gas, electric, or underground utilities
Pay:
$40.95 per hour
