Contract / Contract-to-Hire Job Description We are seeking an experienced Drywall Carpenter to join a growing team supporting commercial construction and remodeling projects in the DC/Northern VA area. This role is heavily focused on drywall installation and high-quality finishing, along with general carpentry work to support interior build-outs. The ideal candidate is a strong drywall finisher who takes pride in clean, detailed work and can operate efficiently on active job sites. Responsibilities Install drywall on walls and ceilings using metal stud framing Perform drywall finishing including taping, mudding, sanding, and final prep for paint Measure, cut, and fit drywall panels to meet project specifications Repair and patch existing drywall to blend seamlessly with finishes Assist with finish carpentry, including trim, baseboards, and interior detailing Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings Coordinate with other trades to maintain project timelines Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Follow all OSHA and site safety requirements Required Skills & Experience 3+ years of experience as a drywall carpenter or drywall finisher Strong experience with taping, mudding, sanding, and surface prep Experience working in commercial construction environments Familiarity with metal stud framing Ability to read blueprints and follow layouts Proficient with hand and power tools High attention to detail and quality Preferred Qualifications Experience with finish carpentry (trim, doors, cabinetry) Prior work on commercial or institutional projects OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Ability to work independently and in a team setting Why Join Us?
