In this role, you will be responsible for applying finishing touches to drywall surfaces, ensuring a smooth, polished look that meets high standards of quality and craftsmanship. Duties Finish drywall surfaces by applying joint compound (mud), tape, and texture to create seamless walls and ceilings. Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to accurately execute drywall installation and finishing tasks. Use hand tools and power tools such as taping knives, sanders, screw guns, and drills to complete finishing work efficiently. Repair damaged drywall or plaster surfaces with appropriate techniques including patching, sanding, and texturing. Install metal stud framing, trim carpentry elements like baseboards or crown molding, and hang doors or fixtures as needed. Follow all safety protocols related to construction workplace safety regulations to ensure a secure environment for yourself and colleagues. Assist with other construction tasks such as framing, caulking, stucco application, or water damage restoration when required. Experience Prior experience in drywall finishing or general construction work is highly preferred. Knowledge of drywall installation, taping, mudding, texturing, and repair techniques. Familiarity with construction estimating and interpreting technical drawings is a plus. Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools used in drywall work and framing projects. Understanding of construction site safety regulations and best practices for maintaining a safe work environment. Additional skills in related areas such as flooring installation, tile laying, plastering, or remodeling can be advantageous.
