Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Hanger and Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, finishing, and repairing drywall surfaces to ensure high-quality interior walls and ceilings across various projects. Your expertise will contribute to creating smooth, durable finishes that meet design specifications and safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, develop your skills in drywall installation and finishing, and be part of a collaborative team dedicated to excellence. Responsibilities Measure, cut, hang, and secure drywall panels using hand tools and power tools, ensuring precise placement according to construction plans. Finish drywall surfaces by taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing to achieve a seamless appearance that meets project specifications. Repair damaged drywall or existing surfaces by patching holes, smoothing surfaces, and restoring original finishes. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute drywall installation and finishing tasks. Collaborate with carpenters, plasterers, and other trades to coordinate work sequences on construction sites. Follow all safety protocols related to construction workplace safety regulations, including proper handling of tools and materials. Assist with metal stud framing, insulation installation, and other related tasks as needed to support comprehensive wall systems. Requirements Proven experience in drywall installation, taping, mudding, texturing, or related construction work. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Skilled in the use of hand tools such as knives, trowels, sanders, and caulking guns; proficient with power tools including drills and saws. Knowledge of construction estimating principles and ability to interpret construction plans effectively. Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols at all times. Experience with drywall repair, plastering, metal stud framing, trim carpentry, stucco application, or flooring installation is a plus. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate clearly across trades; previous construction site experience preferred. Additional skills such as water damage restoration knowledge or mold remediation experience are advantageous but not mandatory.
