Based on experience Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Curtain Wall / Façade Unit Installation Foreman to supervise and participate in curtain wall installation work on high-rise construction projects in New York City. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience installing unitized curtain wall systems and the ability to lead an installation crew, coordinate daily field operations, maintain quality standards, and ensure work is completed safely and according to approved drawings and project schedules. This is a working foreman position. The successful candidate will be expected to both supervise the crew and actively participate in installation work as needed. Responsibilities Lead and supervise curtain wall and façade installation crews. Coordinate daily installation activities with the project superintendent, project manager, crane operator, and other trades. Install unitized curtain wall panels, aluminum framing, glass units, anchors, brackets, flashings, insulation, fire safing, and related façade components. Review shop drawings, installation drawings, elevations, details, and field dimensions. Lay out anchor locations and verify elevations, alignment, plumbness, panel joints, and tolerances. Direct panel hoisting, positioning, setting, and temporary securing operations. Ensure proper installation of gaskets, seals, backer rods, sealants, transition membranes, and waterproofing components. Identify field conflicts, damaged materials, missing components, and installation issues. Communicate field conditions and required corrective actions to project management. Inspect completed work for alignment, appearance, water-tightness, and compliance with project requirements. Track daily manpower, production quantities, deliveries, equipment use, and installation progress. Maintain an organized and safe work area. Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce all company and project safety requirements. Ensure workers properly use fall protection, suspended platforms, scaffolds, aerial lifts, rigging equipment, and personal protective equipment. Coordinate material staging, panel sequencing, crane picks, and access requirements. Train and direct installers, apprentices, and laborers. Assist with punch-list work, repairs, glass replacement, sealant work, and façade adjustments. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of curtain wall, glass, glazing, or architectural façade installation experience. Prior experience as a foreman, lead installer, or crew supervisor. Strong experience with unitized curtain wall installation on mid-rise or high-rise buildings. Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, curtain wall shop drawings, elevations, sections, and installation details. Knowledge of curtain wall anchors, embeds, brackets, panel connections, gaskets, sealants, insulation, fire safing, and waterproofing systems. Experience coordinating panel installation with tower cranes, mobile cranes, hoists, monorails, or other lifting systems. Ability to verify dimensions, elevations, alignment, plumbness, and installation tolerances. Familiarity with common construction tools, laser levels, survey equipment, rigging hardware, scaffolds, aerial lifts, and fall-protection systems. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to safely work at heights and in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift and handle construction materials and equipment. Reliable transportation and the ability to report to projects throughout New York City. OSHA 30 and applicable NYC Site Safety Training credentials are preferred. Scaffold, aerial-lift, rigging, signal-person, or fall-protection certifications are a plus. English communication skills are preferred.
