Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Acoustic Ceiling Man to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining acoustic ceiling systems in various commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will help create aesthetically pleasing and acoustically optimized environments, ensuring that all ceiling installations meet safety standards, blueprints, and client specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that challenge your craftsmanship and technical skills. Duties Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately install acoustic ceiling systems according to specifications. Measure dimensions precisely using tape measures and other tools to ensure proper fit and alignment of ceiling components. Install, secure, and finish acoustic tiles, panels, grid systems, and related fixtures using hand tools and power tools. Conduct quality inspections during installation to verify adherence to project plans, building codes, and safety standards. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to coordinate schedules and resolve installation issues efficiently. Perform remodeling, restoration, or renovation work involving ceiling systems as needed for various projects. Utilize construction management software such as Bluebeam to review plans, document progress, and communicate updates effectively. Handle fabrication tasks for custom ceiling components and ensure proper installation of fixtures like lighting or ventilation systems within ceilings. Apply caulking, plastering, or stucco techniques for finishing touches on ceiling surfaces when required. Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety protocols related to ladder use, scaffolding, electrical safety, and handling construction materials. Qualifications Proven experience in construction site work with a focus on ceiling installation or related trades such as carpentry or tile masonry. Strong knowledge of building materials including acoustic tiles, drywall, framing materials, and related fixtures. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans with attention to dimensional measurements. Skilled in the use of hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, hammers), power tools (e.g., drills), ladders, scaffolding, and fabrication equipment. Familiarity with construction estimating processes and construction management practices is a plus. Experience with gutter installation, flooring installation, welding, or concrete finishing is advantageous but not required. Ability to perform detailed inspections of work quality during all phases of installation; experience with construction inspection is preferred. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members throughout projects. Knowledge of electrical experience or plumbing work can be beneficial for integrated project tasks but is not mandatory. Valid driver's license with the ability to safely operate ladders and other equipment necessary for high-reach work environments.
