Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Lead Drywall Repair & Patch Technician to join our growing restoration team. Unlike new construction, this role focuses heavily on water and fire damage mitigation, commercial and residential repairs, damage restoration, and mold remediation in occupied homes and commercial buildings. The ideal candidate is an expert at texture matching , respects homeowners' properties, and can work independently to see a job through from prep to clean-up. As a W-2 employee, you will be provided with a steady stream of local jobs, consistent weekly pay, and a supportive team environment. In addition, you will be trained on water and fire damage mitigation techniques, with consistent opportunities for overtime.
Key Responsibilities Expert Repairs:
Perform seamless drywall patches, ceiling repairs, stress-crack fixes, and water damage remediation in residential homes.
Flawless Texture Matching:
Match existing wall and ceiling finishes perfectly, including orange peel, knockdown, skip-trowel, and smooth finishes.
Property Protection:
Treat customers' homes with the utmost respect. Execute strict dust-containment procedures using plastic masking, drop cloths, and floor protection before starting any work.
Job Site Clean-Up:
Maintain a clean workspace and leave every job site in pristine condition (vacuuming dust, removing debris).
Customer Communication:
Act as the face of the company on-site. Clearly explain the repair process to homeowners, maintain a professional demeanor, and ensure complete customer satisfaction before leaving. Must be proficient in English.
Lead Duties:
Efficiently manage your daily job schedule, track material usage, and accurately report completed jobs to management.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of professional residential drywall hanging, taping, finishing, and repair experience.
Texture Expertise:
Proven ability to blend and match various residential wall textures seamlessly.
Flexible Availability:
Must be available to work on weekends and evenings as needed to respond to emergencies.
Residential Etiquette:
Prior experience working inside occupied residential homes with a strong emphasis on cleanliness and customer service.
Tools:
Must possess your own standard hand tools of the trade (trowels, knives, pans, etc.). Large equipment/specialty tools will be discussed.
License & Transport:
Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and a clean driving record. Reliable transportation to commute to job sites across DFW or to office in Dallas is required.
Screening:
Must be willing to undergo a standard pre-employment background check, as you will be entering customer homes.
Physical Ability:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work on ceilings comfortably throughout the day.
