Position Summary The Electrical Field Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing commercial and industrial electrical systems at customer locations. This position requires hands-on electrical experience, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently while providing exceptional customer service. Travel to job sites is required. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial electrical equipment and systems. Install and terminate conduit, cable, wire, panels, switchgear, transformers, disconnects, and other power distribution equipment. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and electrical testing using industry-standard diagnostic equipment. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Diagnose electrical issues and complete repairs in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and company safety standards. Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, retrofits, and system upgrades. Troubleshoot motor controls, lighting systems, power distribution equipment, and electrical control circuits. Complete accurate service reports, inspection forms, and project documentation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and project managers regarding project progress and technical issues. Travel to customer locations as required. Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED required. Technical school, apprenticeship, or equivalent electrical training preferred. Experience Minimum of 3 years of commercial, industrial, or utility electrical experience. Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems independently. Experience reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and electrical safety best practices. Proficient with electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, insulation resistance testers, and other diagnostic tools. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Preferred Qualifications Journeyman Electrician license (where applicable). Experience with low- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment. Experience with switchgear, transformers, motor control centers (MCCs), generators, or protective relays. NETA Level II or higher certification is a plus. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Ability to climb ladders, work from aerial lifts, and perform work in confined spaces when required. Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in varying weather conditions.
