Journeyman Electrician / Service Technician - Residential & Commercial Gospo Electric, LLC Gospo Electric is looking for an experienced Journeyman Electrician / Service Technician to join our growing team. We perform residential and commercial electrical service, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, remodels, upgrades, and small projects throughout the Greater Birmingham area. We need someone who is experienced in the field, takes pride in their work, communicates professionally with customers, and can confidently run service calls with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and diagnose residential and commercial electrical problems Perform electrical service calls, repairs, and installations Install and replace panels, breakers, receptacles, switches, lighting, dedicated circuits, and other electrical equipment Perform residential and commercial remodel and renovation work Read and understand electrical plans and specifications when required Work safely and perform installations in accordance with the NEC and local requirements Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners, property managers, contractors, and commercial customers Explain findings and recommended repairs to customers Document work performed, materials used, and job notes Take before-and-after photos of completed work Keep company vehicle, tools, and job sites clean and organized Help train and oversee apprentices/helpers when assigned Maintain a high standard of workmanship and customer service Qualifications Valid Alabama Journeyman Electrician license required Minimum 5 years of electrical field experience preferred Strong residential and commercial service and troubleshooting experience Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code Experience with electrical panels, services, branch circuits, lighting, and general electrical repairs Valid driver's license and good driving record Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Reliable transportation to and from work Dependable, punctual, and professional Comfortable communicating directly with customers Able to work independently as well as part of a team Willing to work overtime when necessary Able to safely lift equipment and materials and work from ladders, lifts, attics, crawlspaces, and other typical electrical work environments What We're Looking For We are not simply looking for someone who can pull wire. We are looking for an electrician who can walk into a customer's home or business, listen to the problem, diagnose it correctly, develop a solution, communicate professionally with the customer, and complete quality work. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their jobs and understands that customer service is just as important as electrical knowledge. Compensation $25.00-$35.00+ per hour depending on experience, ability, and qualifications. Compensation will be based heavily on your ability to independently perform service work, troubleshoot electrical problems, communicate with customers, and efficiently complete residential and commercial projects.
