In this role, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on stamping presses, feed lines, straighteners, coil handling equipment, conveyors, automated equipment, and related production machinery. Your work will help minimize downtime, improve press reliability, support safe production, and maintain equipment performance in a fast-paced manufacturing operation. Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on metal stamping presses, press controls, feed lines, straighteners, coil reels, conveyors, and related production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, ammeters, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, sensor, motor control, and low-voltage control issues affecting press uptime and production quality.
  • Support press line startups, equipment changeovers, and production needs by responding quickly to breakdowns and minimizing unplanned downtime.
  • Maintain, repair, and adjust equipment components such as motors, drives, control panels, limit switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pumps, valves, cylinders, bearings, guards, and safety devices.
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to complete work orders, document repairs, track preventive maintenance, and identify recurring equipment issues.
  • Perform basic welding, fabrication, mechanical adjustments, and equipment repairs as needed to restore safe and reliable operation.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, equipment drawings, and machine manuals to support accurate troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Partner with production, tooling, engineering, and quality teams to improve press reliability, reduce scrap, support root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Follow all plant safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, electrical safety, PPE requirements, and applicable OSHA and environmental standards. Skills
  • 5 years experience maintaining equipment in a metal stamping, automotive, fabrication, or high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with working knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, sensors, relays, drives, control panels, and low-voltage systems.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used on stamping presses and automated production equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain press lines, feed equipment, coil handling systems, conveyors, and related manufacturing machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, machine manuals, blueprints, and hydraulic or pneumatic diagrams.
  • Proficiency using multimeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Experience using CMMS software for work orders, preventive maintenance documentation, parts tracking, and maintenance history.
  • Knowledge of lockout/tagout, machine guarding, electrical safety, and safe work practices in an industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Basic welding, fabrication, machining, or mechanical repair skills preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and urgency when supporting production equipment and downtime events.
