In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial and industrial sites. Your expertise will ensure that electrical infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings, ensuring adherence to electrical building codes such as NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 standards. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to accurately complete installations and repairs. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely on construction sites or existing facilities, including industrial motor maintenance and repair. Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, ammeters, and multimeters; identify root causes of system failures; implement effective solutions promptly. Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical equipment including motor control devices, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and other control equipment. Follow electrical safety procedures rigorously to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members; utilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Use hand tools and power tools efficiently for installation, troubleshooting, and repairs; maintain all tools in good working condition. Collaborate with construction teams on site setup involving frame carpentry or other structural elements that support electrical infrastructure. Document all work performed through detailed reports; update schematics or blueprints as needed for future reference or modifications. Experience Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems. Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) compliance requirements for safe electrical installations. Hands-on experience with high-voltage wiring projects and industrial motor maintenance/repair tasks. Skilled in reading electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints with precision. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, ammeters, and test meters. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motor control equipment, low voltage systems, and power distribution setups. Construction site experience including framing carpentry related to electrical infrastructure installation is preferred.
