Job Description

As a Facilities Electrician, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of the electrical systems that support critical facility infrastructure. This role involves hands-on work, where you will actively engage in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems. You'll work closely with Facilities Operations and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality electrical services, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the facility. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, with a focus on both preventative and emergency maintenance. Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of electrical equipment to support the facility's critical infrastructure Collaborate with other electricians to install electrical systems, including panels, circuits, lighting, and commercial equipment, following construction documents and verbal instructions Diagnose and repair electrical components such as contactors, relays, motors, and motor controls to ensure continuous operation of facility systems Conduct detailed testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including relay controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), transformers, and motor circuits using standard electrical testing methods Install and connect electrical systems, such as motor feeders, junction boxes, and distribution systems, ensuring all work complies with codes and standards Operate mobile equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts, to perform electrical tasks at various heights and locations within the facility Inspect electrical systems and components regularly to identify and address any hazards, defects, or necessary repairs, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards Strong knowledge of Control of Hazardous Energy policies (Lock Out / Tag Out) Understanding of electrical principles and theories, including voltage and current Ability to work at high elevations and read electrical schematics Proficiency in basic mathematics and electrical testing Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (NEC, NFPA 70e, OSHA) Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods and lift at least 10-20 lbs. regularly Familiarity with protection relays, breaker trip settings, and electrical testing equipment Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $28.80 - $54.63/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
