Job Description

Senior Service Electrician Multi-Family Meter Stack & Service Upgrade Experience Required About Blue Streak Blue Streak Lighting & Electric is a highly respected electrical contractor serving multi-family and commercial properties throughout the Bay Area. We specialize in electrical service work, infrastructure upgrades, lighting systems, and complex electrical projects. We are known for quality workmanship, strong field leadership, and high professional standards. Position Overview This is not an apprentice, trainee, or entry-level position. We are hiring a seasoned Senior Service Electrician with at least four years of verifiable, hands-on field experience in commercial and multi-family electrical work. Applicants must have direct experience performing: Multi-family meter stack and meter bank replacements Subpanel installations and replacements Meter-main replacements Electrical service upgrades Service equipment and distribution installations We need an electrician who can arrive at a jobsite, evaluate existing conditions, diagnose problems independently, plan the work, and complete clean, code-compliant installations with minimal supervision. Experience limited to residential wiring, basic maintenance, or apprentice-level work will not meet the requirements for this position. Required Field Experience Candidates must have verifiable, hands-on experience with: Multi-family meter stack and meter bank replacements Coordinated meter and service changeovers at occupied properties Subpanel installations and replacements Meter-main replacements Electrical service upgrades Service equipment and distribution systems 120V-480V electrical systems Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics Commercial and multi-family properties Reading plans, one-line diagrams, and equipment specifications Working safely around energized and de-energized service equipment Responsibilities Replace multi-family meter stacks, meter banks, and related service equipment Install and replace subpanels, meter mains, disconnects, and distribution equipment Perform service upgrades and electrical infrastructure improvements Troubleshoot and diagnose 120V-480V electrical systems Plan and complete complex electrical installations from start to finish Coordinate shutdowns and service restoration at occupied properties Ensure compliance with the NEC, Title 24, utility requirements, and local codes Mentor and support junior electricians in the field Communicate professionally with clients, property managers, inspectors, and project managers Maintain accurate job documentation, material tracking, photos, and time records Safely operate lifts, service trucks, and other jobsite equipment Represent Blue Streak professionally on every jobsite Qualifications Minimum of four years of verifiable field experience as a service electrician Documented experience replacing multi-family meter stacks or meter banks Strong experience with subpanels, meter mains, and service upgrades Strong knowledge of the NEC and applicable California electrical codes Ability to work independently without constant supervision Professional-grade personal tool set OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record California DMV driving record required before an in-person interview Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work at heights of up to 30 feet Experience operating F-450 or 3500-series service trucks preferred Compensation and Benefits Competitive, top-tier compensation based on verified experience Company vehicle for work use and company gas card Company phone and tablet Health and dental insurance options Paid training and advanced certifications Paid time off and holiday pay Leadership and advancement opportunities Stable, year-round service work Supportive team environment with high standards Who Should Apply This position is intended for experienced service electricians who: Have completed multi-family meter stack or meter bank replacements Are highly confident performing subpanel and service equipment work Can lead complicated electrical projects with minimal supervision Take pride in clean, safe, and code-compliant installations Are prepared to take ownership of advanced service projects This is not an apprentice or entry-level opportunity.
