Job Description

Meyer Mechanical is seeking a Master Electrician to support HVAC projects for residential and light commercial clients in the Kansas City metro. You'll lead electrical installation, service, and upgrades for furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and controls, ensuring all work meets NEC, local codes, and safety standards. Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical issues, supervising apprentices, coordinating with HVAC technicians, and verifying proper grounding, sizing, and load calculations. You'll represent our service-focused culture through punctuality, clear communication, and pride in high-quality craftsmanship and ongoing skill development. Responsibilities Lead electrical installation and wiring for residential and light commercial HVAC systems Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues related to HVAC equipment and controls Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC, local codes, and safety standards Perform load calculations, circuit sizing, and panel assessments for new installs and upgrades Supervise and mentor apprentices and junior technicians on electrical best practices Coordinate with HVAC technicians to plan and complete system installations and change-outs Inspect and test electrical components, breakers, disconnects, and grounding systems Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and code compliance Communicate clearly and professionally with customers about findings and recommendations Promote a safety-first, quality-focused culture on every job site Required Skills Electrical wiring and installation for HVAC systems National Electrical Code (NEC) knowledge Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics Load calculations and circuit sizing Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints Panel and service upgrade work Use of electrical testing equipment (multimeters, amp clamps, etc.) Conduit bending and raceway installation Lockout/tagout and electrical safety practices Supervision and training of apprentices
