Commercial / Industrial Electrician Job Description Seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial/Industrial Electrician to join a growing team. In this role, you install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in commercial and industrial facilities, with a strong emphasis on running electrical wiring and bending/installing conduit systems. You work with air conditioning and refrigeration unit wiring, interpret blueprints, and ensure all work meets safety and quality standards. You regularly use power tools, test meters, pipe threaders, and conduit benders while working efficiently on job sites both indoors and outdoors. Responsibilities Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in commercial and industrial facilities. Run electrical wiring, including pulling wire for power distribution, lighting, and equipment. Install, bend, and secure rigid conduit and other conduit systems to support electrical installations. Install electrical panels, breakers, and lighting systems according to specifications and codes. Wire outlets, switches, and other electrical devices in commercial and industrial environments. Provide wiring for air conditioning and refrigeration units, ensuring safe and reliable operation. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics to plan and execute installations. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs. Use test meters and other diagnostic tools to verify proper operation and safety of electrical systems. Operate power tools, pipe threaders, and conduit benders safely and efficiently on job sites. Work collaboratively with crews of 2-4 people, coordinating tasks to meet project schedules. Follow all applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company procedures while on site. Perform work both indoors and outdoors in commercial and industrial settings, adapting to weather conditions. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and materials are properly handled and stored. Essential Skills Proven experience performing electrical work in commercial and/or industrial environments. Strong proficiency in pulling wire and running electrical circuits for various applications. Hands-on experience installing and wiring electrical panels, breakers, and lighting systems. Ability to bend, install, and support rigid conduit and other conduit systems. Skilled in outlet wiring and changing outlets in commercial and industrial settings. Capability to provide wiring for air conditioning and refrigeration units. Competence in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics. Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues using appropriate tools. Comfort working with 480V and other common commercial/industrial voltages. Proficient use of power tools, test meters, pipe threaders, and conduit benders. Understanding of electrical safety practices and adherence to relevant codes and standards. Ability to work efficiently on job sites and collaborate with small teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in construction-related electrical work within commercial or industrial facilities. Experience performing work for large institutional or healthcare-related facilities. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. Ability to adapt to changing job site conditions, including indoor and outdoor environments. Effective communication skills for coordinating tasks with team members and site personnel. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Tonawanda, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
