Electrician Job Description An established electrical contractor is seeking multiple Electricians to support a variety of commercial and residential projects throughout the Fairfield and New Haven County areas. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems while ensuring work meets safety standards, local codes, and project specifications. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes and safety regulations. Measure, bend, and install electrical conduit to route wiring through walls, ceilings, and other building structures. Read and interpret basic electrical diagrams, layouts, and instructions to complete installations and repairs accurately. Run, terminate, and connect electrical wiring for power, lighting, and control systems. Inspect electrical systems, components, and wiring to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair. Use hand and power tools safely to cut, bend, and install conduit and wiring. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using appropriate testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety. Follow all site-specific safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. Collaborate with other trades on-site to coordinate installations and minimize rework or delays. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work. Proficiency in installing and working with electrical conduit, including measuring, cutting, and bending. Strong skills in running, securing, and terminating electrical wiring for various applications. Ability to follow electrical codes, safety standards, and project specifications. Capability to use common electrical tools and equipment safely and effectively. Attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot basic electrical issues on-site. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with both residential and commercial electrical environments. Ability to read and understand simple electrical diagrams and construction drawings. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a field crew. Reliable transportation to job sites within Fairfield and New Haven County. Appropriate workwear and protective gear are required to meet safety and site requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monroe, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
