UL 508A Electrical Control Panel Builder Build industrial control panels from schematic to final test in a quality-focused manufacturing environment. We are hiring an experienced Electrical Control Panel Builder who can independently assemble, wire, label, inspect, and test industrial control panels from electrical schematics. The strongest candidates have hands-on panel-shop experience and practical knowledge of UL 508A workmanship, component selection, spacing, wiring, and documentation requirements. This role is best suited for a dependable craftsperson who produces neat, accurate work, catches discrepancies before they become rework, and can move projects from layout through point-to-point verification. What You'll Do
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, bills of material, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Lay out, drill, tap, cut, and mount wire duct, DIN rail, disconnects, power supplies, PLC hardware, relays, motor controls, circuit protection, terminal blocks, and related components.
- Complete clean, accurate point-to-point wiring; route and dress conductors; and apply wire, terminal, and device labels.
- Build industrial control panels in accordance with UL 508A requirements, project drawings, and company quality standards.
- Perform continuity checks, point-to-point verification, power-up checks, and basic functional testing with appropriate test equipment.
- Identify drawing, material, and assembly discrepancies; troubleshoot faults; and document corrections clearly.
- Maintain an organized workstation, follow safe work practices, and complete projects accurately and on schedule.
- Work with engineering and manufacturing team members to resolve questions and improve build quality. Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience building and wiring industrial electrical control panels.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and complete a panel build with limited supervision.
- Working knowledge of UL 508A panel-building practices and quality expectations.
- Experience with common panel components, wire preparation, crimping, termination, labeling, and panel fabrication.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, drills, taps, multimeters, and continuity-testing equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and a consistent record of quality workmanship.
- Ability to troubleshoot wiring and assembly issues and communicate discrepancies clearly. Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of industrial control panel-building experience.
- Experience working in a UL 508A panel shop or with UL-labeled assemblies.
- Experience with PLC and HMI hardware, variable-frequency drives, motor starters, safety relays, or similar industrial controls.
- Experience performing powered functional checks or supporting factory acceptance testing.
- Formal electrical training, an industry credential, or comparable hands-on experience.
