Pay Range:

$27 - $30/hour, based on experience

Certifications:

Generac Air Cooled Certified preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

Service, repair, and assemble equipment as assigned by supervisors. Diagnose problems and repair propane and natural gas generators. Perform any safety or regulatory inspections as required. Maintain accurate, easy-to-read records of all work performed and materials used. Maintain safe work habits. Maintain and care for all shop tools, machines, equipment, and vehicles (fluid levels). Suggest any additional repairs needed to the appliance manager and/or customer. Supply own hand tools. Treats customers and co-workers in a friendly, courteous manner.

Experience/Skills:

Minimum of 4 years of experience in a closely related field, such as electrical, mechanical equipment, or HVAC. Valid driver's license in good standing. Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail. Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and move freely while performing job duties. Generator installation, maintenance, and repair experience preferred. Comparable experience with small engines, electrical systems, or HVAC will be considered. Basic understanding of electrical systems, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), fuel systems (natural gas/propane), and digital controls/firmware. Experience with air-cooled residential generator installation and service. Experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS). Experience with generator start-up, commissioning, and maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot fault codes, alarms, electrical circuits, voltage, phase, and wiring issues. Ability to run and secure conduit and pull and terminate wire. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Understanding of residential electrical systems and NEC requirements/local electrical codes. Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits using a multimeter and other electrical test equipment. Knowledge of proper grounding, neutral isolation, and bonding. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all types of weather.
