Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Service Electrician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across commercial, industrial and residential settings. Your expertise will ensure that electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Responsibilities Respond to service calls and troubleshoot electrical systems (commercial, light industrial, and residential). Diagnose, repair, and replace electrical components, panels, lighting, motors, controls, and related equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and inspections. Read and interpret electrical drawings, panel schedules, and specifications. Complete work orders, document findings, and communicate clearly with customers and the office. Follow all safety procedures, NEC requirements, and company standards. Coordinate with other trades and internal teams as needed. Qualifications Current Idaho Journeyman Electrician license. Minimum 5 years of electrical experience, with strong service/troubleshooting background preferred. Proven experience as a commercial or industrial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems. Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) compliance requirements for safe electrical work practices. Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Strong customer service and communication skills. Willingness to work occasional overtime or after-hours calls as needed. Skilled in troubleshooting electrical systems using diagnostic tools. Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately. Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail; capable of working independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
