Packaging Manufacturing Role Summary Randstad USA is seeking an experienced Plant Electrician for a direct hire opportunity in Elgin, IL. This position supports production and utility equipment through electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs. The ideal candidate has strong industrial electrical experience with PLCs, AC/DC drives, electrical schematics, and automated manufacturing equipment. ️
Qualifications & Skills Required:
High School Diploma or GED PLC certification required 1+ year of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Experience troubleshooting PLCs and AC/DC drives strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings Mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting experience Experience using electrical meters, hand tools, and power tools Ability to work safely around automated production equipment
Preferred:

salary: $62,000 - $83,000 per year shift: First work hours: 6 AM - 6 PM education: High School Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues on production and utility equipment Diagnose PLC-controlled equipment and AC/DC drive systems Perform scheduled, preventive, and emergency maintenance Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and work orders Use electrical meters, diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as needed Support production line systems including lubrication, resin delivery, and other process equipment Complete PM inspections and document repairs accurately in the CMMS Respond to equipment breakdowns and help minimize production downtime Communicate equipment conditions and repair status with Maintenance and Production teams Track parts usage and communicate inventory needs Follow OSHA, LOTO, SOP, sanitation, and plant safety procedures Maintain a clean and safe maintenance work area
