What they do

An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
may include but not limited to: Supply on time and quality products to all Holland customers. Comply with and enforce shop safety practices. Maintain Shop Paper Work, E.C.R.'S, N.C.R.'S, O.F.I'S, I.F.S. procedures and work instructions etc. as required. Read electrical schematics. Build back panels and enclosures. Make wire runs and wire labels Wire crimping Measure and cut cable Assist in testing, FAT's and certifications. Participate in LEAN training and develop and support process improvement practices. Participate and support technical training programs as requested Maintain clean and organized shop at all times. Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standing, walking, stooping, reaching, kneeling and bending, for extended periods required to perform basic functions along with some sitting. Hands on working position. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is regularly required. Vision must be sufficient for reading electrical prints and schematics. Ability to climb a steep ladder frequently. Ability to move up and down from commercial vehicles/trucks. Wear all required PPE May be required to travel up to 10% domestically
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Mainly indoor Shop environment, dry conditions, heated shop, non-air conditioned. Could work outdoor in all weather conditions. May working at off sight locations either inside or outside.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Some electrical vocational schooling preferred. 2+ years' electrical experience preferred Minimum of 1 year working knowledge of the proper use of electrical diagnostic instruments and measurements tools. Knowledge with electrical panel and enclosure building Knowledge of vehicle electrical wiring and trouble shooting experience preferred Proven ability to read electrical schematics. Knowledge of the usage of basic hand tools, fasteners and power tools (drills, grinders, read tape measure, mic's and calipers, etc…) Use of forklifts, manlifts, scissor lifts. Able to work effectively as a team member. Able to follow direction and work alone while still meeting deadlines Good safety awareness and behavior. Takes ownership in solving problems. Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to maintain a valid Driver's license and abide by our Corporate Fleet Policy. Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland, L.P.
