This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can confidently manage an installation from start to finish, work directly with customers, solve problems in the field, and ensure every project is completed safely and to LightinUp's standards. If you have experience in installation, construction, electrical, landscaping, low-voltage, or a related trade and are ready to take the lead, we want to hear from you. What You'll Do Lead small installation crews on residential and commercial projects Install outdoor and holiday lighting systems Direct, train, and support Installation Technicians in the field Read and follow project plans, layouts, and installation instructions Safely work from ladders and at elevated heights Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and installation equipment Troubleshoot problems and make decisions in the field Communicate professionally with customers Conduct job-site walkthroughs and final quality checks Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe Identify additional installation needs or issues Take ownership of each project from start to finish What We're Looking For The ideal Lead Technician is an experienced tradesperson who is ready to take ownership and lead by example.
You should be:
Experienced in installation, construction, electrical, landscaping, low-voltage, or a related trade Comfortable leading and directing a small crew Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently A strong problem solver who can think on your feet Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions Experienced with hand and power tools Detail-oriented and committed to quality workmanship Professional and comfortable communicating with customers Physically capable of performing the job and safely working at heights In possession of reliable transportation and a valid driver's license Previous leadership experience is strongly preferred , but experienced tradespeople who are ready to step into a leadership role are encouraged to apply. Experience That's a Plus Experience in any of the following is especially valuable: Holiday or outdoor lighting Landscape lighting Low-voltage electrical systems Construction Landscaping Electrical work General installation or home improvement Crew leadership or field supervision Compensation $22-$28/hour + Commission Lead Technicians can earn additional commission based on completed jobs and project size. Greater responsibility and successfully leading larger projects can mean greater earning potential.
