What they do
An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

Travel may be required as needed Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment. Perform electrical installations, wiring, and equipment connections. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings. Identify electrical issues and perform repairs in a safe and efficient manner. Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery and electrical equipment. Assist with machine troubleshooting and electrical-related maintenance. Travel to customer or job sites as needed to perform electrical service and troubleshooting. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company safety procedures and electrical safety standards. Qualifications 1-3 years of experience as an Electrical Technician, Industrial Electrician, or in a similar role. Basic knowledge of electrical systems, controls, wiring, and troubleshooting. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Reliable, safety-minded, and detail-oriented. Willingness to work occasional weekends and travel as needed. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Willingness to learn and develop additional technical skills.
