Primary Function:

To perform skilled electrical work in industrial environments, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment. This role requires working independently or as part of a team to ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant operations. The electrician will apply advanced knowledge of industrial electrical systems, guided by NCCER standards and company procedures.

Work Environment:

The normal work environment will be in an industrial facility where exposure to outdoor weather conditions is possible and where proper PPE is required for a variety of potential hazards.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The roles and responsibilities of a Level 3, NCCER Industrial Electrician may include, but are not limited to, the following items: ? Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, including motors, control panels, transformers, and power distribution equipment. ? Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to ensure accurate installations and repairs. ? Provide advanced troubleshooting of electrical systems and components using diagnostic tools and meters. ? Install PLCs, VFDs, and other automation and control systems. ? Ensure all work complies with National Electric Code, OSHA, client, and company safety standards. ? Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical equipment to minimize downtime. ? Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to support system upgrades and modifications. ? Document work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, repair records, and quality check sheets. ? Mentor apprentices and junior electricians, providing guidance and support in technical tasks. ? Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualification Guidelines:

Education:

? High school diploma or GED required. ? Experience 3-4 years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical work, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex systems. ?

Licensing/Certifications:

? Valid Texas Apprentice Electrician License required. ? NCCER Industrial Electrician certification required. ? Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. ? OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred but not required. ?

Technical Skills:

? Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation. ? Skilled in conduit bending, wire pulling, panel wiring, and motor control systems. ? Experience with PLC's, VFD's, and industrial automation systems. ? Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools. ?

Soft Skills:

? Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. ? Effective communication and teamwork abilities. ? High attention to detail and commitment to safety. ?

Physical Requirements:

? Ability to lift to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces. ? Comfortable working in industrial environments, including hot, cold, or noisy conditions. ? Capable of standing, kneeling, and crouching for extended periods. ? Must comply with STARCON's drug and alcohol policy. ? Able to pass physical examination, if required. ? Able to climb towers through ladder cages, climb stairways carrying 20lbs of tools and/or materials, work from scaffolding at elevated heights, work in towers and vessels, work in excavations, extended hours on your feet on un-even work surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel) ?

Safety/Environmental:

o Must be able to pass applicable site-specific training. Knowledge of refinery and chemical plant hazards which may require special precautions and PPE. o Must undertake the appropriate safety/environmental training commensurate with the position and location. o CPR and 1st Aid training and certification, when required. o Must be able to read and understand safety instructions, signs, labels and permits in English.
