WorkEnvironment:
The normal workenvironment will be in an industrial facility where exposure to outdoor weatherconditions is possible and where proper PPE is required for a variety ofpotential hazards.
Roles& Responsibilities:
The roles and responsibilities of an I&E Superintendent may include, butare not limited to, the following items: Supervise and coordinate Instrumentation & Electrical teams across multiple job sites or large-scale projects. Plan and schedule I&E work to meet project milestones and deadlines. Review and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and specifications. Ensure compliance with
NEC, NFPA
70E, client standards, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies. Oversee installation and commissioning of instrumentation systems including transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and PLCs. Manage electrical installations including power distribution, motor control centers (MCCs), and grounding systems. Conduct site audit & inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to resolve field issues and maintain workflow. Maintain accurate documentation including daily reports, timekeeping, material tracking, and change orders. Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for I&E personnel. Mentor foremen and technicians, promoting technical development and safe work practices.
Qualification Guidelines:
Education :
Experience Minimum of 7 years ofhands-on experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation work,including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex systemsincluding 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role. Valid State Journeyman Electrician License required. Valid driver's license and reliabletransportation required. OSHA 10 certification required.
NFPA 70E
Arc Flash Hazard Certificationrequired.
Technical Skills :
Proficient in reading and interpretingelectrical drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control systemdocumentation.
Soft Skills :
Excellent communication, organizational, andproblem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements :
Comfortable working in industrial environments,including hot, cold, or noisy conditions.
•Able to pass physical examination, if required. Able to climbtowers through ladder cages, climb stairways, accessscaffolding at elevated heights, work in towers and vessels, work in excavations, extendedhours on your feet on un-even work surfaces(dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel
Safety/Environmental:
oMust be able to pass applicable site-specifictraining. Knowledge of refinery and chemical planthazards which may require special precautions and PPE. oMust be able to read and understand safetyinstructions, signs, labels and permits in English.
