Electrical Technician Reports To:
Electrical Department Manager Position Summary:
To assist the team in reaching departmental and company goals while providing a positive client experience through leveraging the core values of
Akian Plumbing, Heating, & AC Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a 5-star client experience by leveraging Akian's core values in all interactions (internal and external)
  • Perform residential electrical installations, upgrades, and service work in compliance with Massachusetts electrical code and company standards
  • Install electrical systems and components correctly the first time to eliminate callbacks and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Install and service: ○ Panels, subpanels, and circuit breakers ○ Wiring (line voltage and low voltage) ○ Lighting systems, outlets, switches, and fixtures ○ Generators, EV chargers, and smart home systems (as applicable)
  • Ensure all work meets local/state codes, manufacturer specifications, and Akian quality standards
  • Maintain accurate job documentation including
  • Communicate clearly with clients
  • Mentor and support apprentices and junior technicians to help develop their skills and uphold company standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked company provided vehicle
  • Ensure safe handling and transportation of tools, materials, and equipment
  • Identify and report safety concerns to management immediately
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry trends, code updates, and company processes
  • Collaborate with HVAC and plumbing teams on integrated home service projects when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
  • Valid Massachusetts Electrical License (Journeyman or Master) - required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2-5 years of residential electrical experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of: ○ Massachusetts electrical code ○ Residential wiring methods and best practices
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and grow
  • Ability to work independently and manage job timelines effectively
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Physical Requirements:
  • Comfortable working on ladders (4'-32') and at heights when required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (with assistance or equipment for heavier loads)
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods

$90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
