Job Title:
Maintenance Electrician Job Description This role focuses on performing mechanical and electrical repairs on high-speed corrugating machinery, including printing presses, die cutting, flexogluing, and packaging equipment. You will carry out preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues, and support general building maintenance in a large, modern manufacturing facility. Responsibilities Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on high-speed corrugating machinery, including printing presses, die cutting, flexogluing, and packaging equipment. Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery, including oiling, lubricating, and greasing parts to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to support accurate troubleshooting and repair activities. Use hand and power tools, including volt meters and other electrical testing tools, to complete repairs safely and effectively. Carry out general building maintenance tasks as needed to support smooth facility operations. Troubleshoot electrical panels and perform electrical installation work for machinery and related systems. Essential Skills 5+ years of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience on manufacturing equipment. 5+ years of experience working with automation equipment and PLCs. Proven experience troubleshooting electrical panels in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics. Demonstrated skill in troubleshooting to root cause for mechanical and electrical issues. Additional Skills & Qualifications Trade schooling or technical education in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance is preferred. Comfort working with schematics and complex industrial automation systems. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing equipment issues. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a very clean, organized manufacturing facility. The role is on second and third shift, with frequent overtime opportunities. Maintenance team members use a range of industrial tools and equipment, including volt meters, electrical testing tools, and standard hand and power tools. Personal protective equipment is provided, and employees must be comfortable wearing a hard hat and safety vest while on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $43.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
