Industrial Electrical Technician

Job Title:

Electrician (Mid Day Shift) Job Description This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining all the manufacturing equipment within the production areas. The role involves ensuring machinery and equipment are in optimum working condition and providing technical assistance to operators and supervisors on mechanical, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic problems. The position also recommends equipment replacement, schedules and performs preventative maintenance, and handles electrical problem-solving with control wiring and board repairs. Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and replace electrical components for various manufacturing equipment, including variable speed motors, VFDS, Micromaster drives, encoders, contractors, relays, and related software programs. Read and interpret equipment operation and parts manuals, electrical schematics, and perform computer tasks related to work. Troubleshoot, repair, and install low and high voltage (single, three phase) industrial electromechanical and control systems for utility and production equipment. Install, wire, and maintain relays, photo-eyes, limit switches, proximity switches, solenoid valves, motors, starters, VFDs, PLC I/O modules, and analog control devices. Layout circuits, install fixtures, bend and run conduit, and install motors and other electrical devices and components. Essential Skills 1+ years of experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial manufacturing environment. Experience in wiring and troubleshooting. Mechanical troubleshooting experience. Ability to perform mechanical work, including valve replacement, conveyor bearing and chain replacement, motor/gearbox replacement, and electrical lube routes. Must provide own basic tools. Experience reading blueprints and schematics. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with chillers, VFDS, Micromaster Drives. Proficient in electrical wiring, installation, and repair. Work Environment The role is set in a manufacturing environment that is dusty and not temperature controlled. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkridge, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
