$32 to $35 per hour Reports to: Electrical Supervisor / Superintendent Derick Associates is a full-service lighting distributor for commercial and multi-family customers.

Position Summary:

Works independently to complete responsibilities related installation, repairs, trouble shooting and problem solving. It will also include other related assignments as deemed necessary by the owner of Derick Associates, Inc. It should be noted that as you become more familiar with the organization, the position may be refined to best meet the needs of the company.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain safety and follow all state and local building regulations including the National Electrical Code.
• Read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.
• Install and/or inspect interior lighting — ceiling and wall fixtures, corridor, recess cans, exit signs, emergency lights.
• Install and/or inspect exterior lighting — flood lights, wall packs, post top fixtures, bollards.
• Troubleshoot and repair post-install electrical problems and warranty work.
• Run wire and conduit in interior and exterior locations.
• Meet sales personnel at property for walk throughs, marking lighting fixtures and helping with general lighting questions and materials needed.
• Deliver material and supplies when needed.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent plus completion of an electrical apprenticeship or technical school program.

• Valid state and local electrician license.
• 5 years of experience in electrical work.

Work Environment:

This position requires independent travel in a company vehicle to client locations around the

MD/DC/VA

metro area. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Physical Demands:

Requires use of standard business equipment including indoor and outdoor use of computers, tablets and mobile phones. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, squat and independently manage a 32 ft extension ladder and regularly lift to shoulder, climb and carry 50 lbs of equipment/supplies. Good color vision for wire identification.

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid state and local driver's license, and journeymen / electrical license / certification.
