Job Description

Join our dynamic team as an Electrical Journeyman/Journeywoman and bring your expertise to a variety of construction, renovation, and industrial projects. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across commercial and industrial sites. Your skills will ensure that electrical infrastructure is safe, efficient, and compliant with all relevant codes and standards. Install, wire, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and renovation settings using schematics and blueprints. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of systems. Use hand tools, power tools, low voltage testers such as ohmmeters, and other electrical equipment to perform precise work. Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation components to support industrial electrical systems. Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), safety standards, and local regulations. Conduct inspections on high voltage and low voltage systems; diagnose issues using appropriate testing devices. Collaborate with construction teams including frame carpenters and general contractors during renovation or new construction projects. Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety protocols related to electrical work on construction sites. Assist with schematic reading for complex electrical systems involving power distribution, circuit design, and control wiring. Utilize hand tools such as wire strippers, pliers, screwdrivers, along with power tools for efficient installation tasks. Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to prevent failures and extend system lifespan. Valid Electrical Journeyman/Journeywoman license or certification demonstrating completion of an approved apprenticeship program. Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician working on construction sites or renovation projects. Strong knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for safe wiring practices. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics for industrial automation systems. Ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, schematics, and construction drawings accurately. Proficiency with testing devices such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical circuits. Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in various environments. Experience working with high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems in diverse settings. Hands-on experience in renovation projects involving framing carpentry or maintenance person skills is a plus. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills during installation or troubleshooting tasks. Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team while maintaining safety standards at all times.
