MPE Global Reports To:
Production Manager Pay:

$35

•$50 per hour Position Summary MPE Global is seeking a skilled Machine Wireman to own all on-machine electrical wiring for custom polyurethane processing equipment. This role is for someone who knows their craft. You will take a mechanically assembled machine and wire every electrical component on it — motors, drives, sensors, solenoids, limit switches, and more — running conduit, building raceways, pulling wire, and landing every termination into the control panel. High voltage and low voltage. You work from electrical prints, you don't guess, and you don't cut corners. Every machine we build is a custom, engineered-to-order one-off. There is no production line, no repetition. If you thrive on variety, take pride in clean wiring, and can execute independently from a schematic, this role is for you. Key Responsibilities Machine Wiring Wire all electrical components on custom industrial machines from electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Install and wire motors, VFDs, sensors, solenoids, limit switches, temperature controllers, and other field devices Run conduit, build wire raceways, and route wire harnesses from field devices back to the control cabinet Terminate all field wiring into the control panel — cleanly, correctly, and per schematic Work across both high voltage (480V/3-phase) and low voltage (24VDC/120VAC control circuits) Label all field wiring per electrical standards and drawing requirements Quality & Standards Work strictly from electrical prints — accurate terminations, correct wire type and color, no improvisation Perform continuity and I/O checks on completed wiring prior to startup Follow LOTO and electrical safety procedures at all times Maintain clean, organized wiring runs — conduit fill, bend radius, and dressing standards Integration & Startup Support Coordinate with panel builder for cabinet readiness and termination handoff Work with controls engineers during machine power-up and functional testing Troubleshoot wiring issues quickly during commissioning Document as-built wiring changes accurately Key Qualifications 5+ years of industrial machine wiring or electrical assembly experience Fluent in electrical schematics and wiring diagrams — works from prints independently Experienced with high voltage (480V 3-phase) and low voltage (24VDC/120VAC) wiring Conduit installation, wire pulling, and raceway building experience Strong understanding of wire termination, ampacity, and NEC wiring practices Lockout/tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety compliance Self-directed — executes without step-by-step supervision Preferred Experience Experience at an OEM machine builder or industrial equipment manufacturer Familiarity with Siemens PLC-based control systems Ability to read P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) — understanding of process flow, instrumentation symbology, and how mechanical and electrical systems interact on a machine VFD wiring and installation experience Experience wiring motors, encoders, and servo systems Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent trade experience Key Attributes Knows their craft — wiring is not just a task, it's a skill they've mastered Clean and precise — every wire run looks intentional Works with urgency — comfortable in a fast-paced custom build environment Problem solver — identifies and resolves wiring issues without waiting to be told Thrives on variety — no two machines are the same and that's the appeal
