Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our team. Perform electrical diagnostics to identify faults within complex industrial electrical systems, including high-voltage wiring. Ensure all work adheres to NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards and local electrical codes for safety and compliance. Install and maintain low voltage systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), security systems, and automation controls. Conduct testing with tools like voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to verify proper operation of electrical circuits. Follow strict electrical safety procedures during all phases of work to protect yourself and others on site. Read electrical blueprints and schematics accurately for installation or troubleshooting projects. Assist with renovation projects by updating existing electrical systems or installing new wiring in construction sites. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure timely project completion while maintaining quality standards. Experience Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems. Demonstrated ability to read complex electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams confidently. Hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical wiring, low voltage systems, and troubleshooting diverse electrical issues. Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), local electrical codes, and safety procedures. Experience working on construction sites, renovations, or ongoing maintenance projects within industrial or commercial settings. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, and control wiring is highly desirable. Ability to use diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, power tools, hand tools, and testing equipment efficiently. Strong understanding of electrical blueprint reading combined with practical installation skills using hand tools and power tools. Previous handyman or frame carpentry experience is a plus for versatile project support.
