Residential Electrician — $20-$42/Hour A skilled Residential Electrician should earn trust and strong pay. You solve problems less-experienced technicians struggle to diagnose. This is not an entry-level position. It is designed for an experienced electrical professional who can take ownership of a job, complete quality work, and guide apprentices or junior technicians when needed. What You'll Be Doing Run residential electrical service calls independently Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical problems Complete panel replacements, service upgrades, meter base replacements, and service changes Install generators, transfer switches, EV chargers, dedicated circuits, outlets, switches, grounding systems, whole-home surge protection, electrical panels, and exterior electrical services and meters Perform residential load calculations and electrical service sizing Complete work according to National Electrical Code and local code requirements Coordinate materials, inspections, workflow, and job completion Document completed work accurately using photos, notes, and company software Communicate professionally with homeowners, inspectors, utility companies, field leadership, and office staff Mentor apprentices and junior technicians when assigned What We're Looking For At least two years of hands-on residential electrical experience Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Experience completing residential panel changes and service upgrades Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Clear and professional communication inside customers' homes Reliable attendance and consistent follow-through Valid driver's license Preferred Experience Journeyman license or equivalent residential electrical experience Experience with residential service work, including panel replacements, service upgrades, meter base replacements, and service changes Experience installing generators, transfer switches, EV chargers, dedicated circuits, and grounding systems Experience with outlets, switches, whole-home surge protection, and exterior electrical services Experience performing residential load calculations and electrical service sizing Familiarity with ServiceTitan or similar field-service software Experience coordinating materials, inspections, and project completion Experience leading crews or coordinating residential electrical projects Experience mentoring and training apprentices or junior technicians About Potts Electric Potts Electric provides residential electrical installation, repair, and service work.
