Job Description

Maintenance, HVAC & Electrical - Perkinston Campus Job Description This position will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all physical plant systems. The position requires a person with multi-craft skills. This position reports to the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds. Job Duties 1. Provide assistance and troubleshoot any/all HVAC or electrical problems. 2. Maintain inventory of HVAC and electrical supplies and materials. 3. Maintain HVAC and electrical tools and equipment. 4. Work with contractors, subcontractors, and other vendors. 5. Operate and maintain hot water generators, all cooling systems, pneumatic controls systems and CFC certification. 6. Troubleshoot general maintenance breakdowns and general failures. 7. Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment. 8. Help resolve problems of general maintenance such as plumbing, carpentry, welding, mechanics, painting, etc., as they occur. 9. Work under the direction of the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds and perform all duties as assigned. 10. Work on weekends, holidays, evenings/nights and all other hours as required. 11. Must maintain a valid MS Driver's License. 12. Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain required certifications and job-related competencies. 13. Performs other related duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the College. This position requires climbing ladders, working on roof tops and other physically demanding duties. This position requires physical mobility, manual dexterity, and ability to lift at least 70 lbs. The college may adjust working hours as needed to better serve the students and other employees. Mandatory Qualifications (M1) High school diploma/GED. (M2) Minimum of four years experience in electrical repair and HVAC. (M3) Universal EPA Refrigerant Certification. (M4) Control System experience in all levels. Desirable Qualifications (D1) Maintenance-related educational experience, vocational training, or industrial training. (D2) Must be able to communicate effectively with college personnel at all levels. (D3) Email and computer experience. (D4) Experience working with a computerized energy management system.
