2nd Shift Monday through Friday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM New hires will initially train on 1st shift for approximately 4 weeks before transitioning to 2nd shift. During this period, the employee will shadow experienced maintenance personnel, learn the facility's machinery and electrical systems, and become familiar with required safety and maintenance procedures. Additional training time may be provided depending on progress and safety readiness. A Confidential Company in Rural Hall, NC is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician for a Contract to Hire opportunity in a heavy industrial steel manufacturing environment. This position is primarily focused on industrial electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair . The hiring manager is seeking someone with a strong hands on industrial electrical background who can troubleshoot production equipment and electrical systems safely and effectively. The Industrial Electrician will work with PLC controlled machinery, VFDs, industrial motors, sensors, electrical controls, wiring, and other electrical and electronic components associated with manufacturing equipment. PLC programming is not required. However, candidates must have experience troubleshooting PLC controlled equipment. PLC programming experience is a major plus and may qualify candidates for consideration toward the higher end of the pay range.

Responsibilities include:

Troubleshoot electrical and electronic problems on industrial production machinery Diagnose problems involving PLC controlled equipment Troubleshoot and replace VFDs Troubleshoot industrial motors, sensors, wiring, controls, and electrical components Diagnose electrical equipment failures and determine root causes Perform electrical repairs on production machinery Read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams Use multimeters and other electrical diagnostic equipment Respond to production equipment breakdowns and restore equipment to operation safely Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on industrial machinery Inspect motors, gearboxes, bearings, and related equipment during preventive maintenance Replace bearings and perform general mechanical maintenance as needed Complete assigned maintenance projects and work orders Document and sign off on completed preventive maintenance Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects Perform welding repairs when required Work closely with maintenance personnel, production employees, management, and engineering Follow all electrical safety procedures and required PPE standards Typical daily work consists of preventive maintenance, assigned projects, and work orders. When equipment breaks down, the maintenance team is responsible for troubleshooting the problem and getting the machinery safely back into operation. Preventive maintenance assignments can range from approximately 30 minutes to several hours depending on the machine and work required.

Work Environment:

This is a heavy industrial steel manufacturing environment . Everything being maintained is associated with steel production, and candidates need to understand the physical demands of the facility. Temperatures inside the facility can reach approximately 120°F . Maintenance employees may also be required to handle heavy motors, components, and equipment. Appropriate electrical PPE and arc rated protective equipment are provided. Safety is a major priority due to the industrial electrical systems and high voltage equipment present in the facility.

Requirements:

Minimum of 4 years of hands on industrial electrical experience Experience must be within an industrial, manufacturing, steel, heavy manufacturing, or similar environment Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Hands on experience troubleshooting industrial motors Experience troubleshooting sensors and industrial electrical controls Hands on experience with PLC controlled machinery Ability to troubleshoot PLC related equipment problems Experience troubleshooting and replacing VFDs Experience working with industrial voltage and electrical systems Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics Ability to safely use multimeters and other electrical diagnostic equipment Strong understanding of industrial electrical safety Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform mechanical maintenance when required Willingness to learn welding if previous welding experience is limited MIG and Stick welding experience is preferred but not required PLC programming experience is a strong plus Must be comfortable working in a physically demanding steel manufacturing environment Must be comfortable working in temperatures that may reach approximately 120°F Must be able to pass a strict national background check Must be dependable and able to meet strict attendance requirements Residential electrical experience alone will NOT qualify for this position. The hiring manager is specifically seeking hands on industrial electrical experience. This is NOT an entry level electrical position. Candidates must already possess significant hands on industrial electrical troubleshooting experience. This is not an opportunity to train someone with no industrial electrical background. Training is provided specifically to familiarize an experienced electrician with the company's machinery, processes, mechanical maintenance responsibilities, safety procedures, and welding requirements.

Attendance Requirement:

The company maintains a very strict attendance policy during the first 5 weeks of employment . Candidates cannot have planned vacations, appointments, scheduling conflicts, or other commitments that would cause them to miss work or arrive late during their first 5 weeks. Candidates who cannot commit to this requirement should not apply.

Additional Details:

All necessary maintenance tools and equipment are provided by the company. The hiring manager specifically does not expect employees to bring personal tools from home. Required electrical safety equipment and arc rated PPE are also provided. This is a Contract to Hire opportunity. Client benefits do not begin during the contract period.
