Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across commercial and industrial settings. Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute wiring layouts and system configurations. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely in accordance with NFPA 70 standards and local electrical codes. Conduct routine maintenance on industrial electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety procedures. Diagnose complex electrical issues using advanced troubleshooting techniques involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other control systems. Implement electrical safety procedures during all phases of work to protect yourself and team members from hazards associated with high voltage and low voltage systems. Collaborate with construction teams during renovation or new build projects, including framing carpentry or handyman tasks when necessary to support electrical installations. Qualifications Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification demonstrating completion of required apprenticeship hours. Proven experience working as an electrician in industrial settings with a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems. Extensive commercial electrician experience with knowledge of local electrical codes such as NEC (National Electrical Code). Proficiency in reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and blueprints reading skills for accurate installation and troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with high-voltage (up to 600V) wiring projects along with low voltage systems; familiarity with NFPA 70 compliance is essential. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment for precise troubleshooting. Construction site experience including renovation projects; ability to adapt quickly to changing environments while maintaining safety standards. Strong troubleshooting skills for complex electrical systems involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation components. Knowledge of electrical safety procedures aligned with OSHA standards; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
