This role will help keep production operations safe, reliable, and efficient by responding to electrical issues, completing preventive maintenance, and supporting equipment improvement projects. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, technically capable, and comfortable working independently as well as with maintenance, engineering, production, and external service teams. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, test, and repair electrical wiring, controls, motors, sensors, panels, and industrial equipment. Diagnose electrical faults using schematics, wiring diagrams, meters, testing equipment, and other diagnostic tools. Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery, motor controls, variable frequency drives, conveyors, pumps, and automated production systems. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to reduce equipment failures and production interruptions. Respond to electrical breakdowns and complete repairs in a timely manner while following established safety procedures. Support the installation, startup, modification, and commissioning of new or upgraded equipment. Inspect electrical systems and components for damage, wear, code concerns, and potential reliability issues. Perform equipment wiring, panel modifications, conduit installation, cable termination, and control-system repairs. Follow lockout/tagout procedures and verify that equipment is safely de-energized before beginning work. Maintain accurate records of completed work, parts used, equipment conditions, and recommended follow-up repairs. Coordinate with production and maintenance personnel to safely schedule repairs and minimize operational disruption. Work with contractors and service providers during electrical installations, inspections, and repairs. Maintain an organized work area and ensure tools, materials, and equipment are properly stored. Participate in continuous improvement projects designed to improve equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and workplace safety. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Technical training, apprenticeship completion, or an associate degree in electrical technology is preferred. Three or more years of experience working as an industrial, commercial, or maintenance electrician. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals. Experience troubleshooting motors, controls, sensors, relays, transformers, and industrial control systems. Familiarity with PLCs, variable frequency drives, instrumentation, and automated equipment is preferred. Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and applicable workplace safety requirements. Ability to use electrical testing instruments, hand tools, and power tools safely. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and documentation skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond to urgent maintenance needs.
