Job Title:
Journeyman Electrician Job Description This role focuses on commercial electrical construction and installation, including conduit bending, wiring, and fixture installation on high-profile, mixed-use job sites. You will work on EMT and other conduit systems, pull and terminate MC and BX wiring, read and interpret electrical prints and schematics, and support the installation and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment. Responsibilities Bend and install EMT and other types of electrical conduit accurately and safely, including work on open-concept ceilings and heavy pipe runs. Perform electrical construction and installation tasks, including routing, securing, and terminating wiring in commercial environments. Pull MC and BX wiring and other electrical conductors, ensuring proper labeling, organization, and adherence to code requirements. Install electrical fixtures, lighting, switchgear, and related components according to blueprints, schematics, and project specifications. Read and interpret electrical prints, wiring schematics, and blueprints to plan and execute installations with minimal supervision. Run conduit systems for lighting, power distribution, and other electrical applications, ensuring clean, precise, and code-compliant work. Troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment, identify issues, and implement effective repairs or adjustments. Follow all site safety requirements, including maintaining OSHA 30 compliance and wearing appropriate PPE at all times. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area throughout the project, particularly in high-profile, mixed-use commercial buildings. Use appropriate hand tools and cordless drills to complete daily tasks efficiently and safely. Take direction from site leadership, work collaboratively with the team, and complete assigned tasks within required timeframes. Support the installation of finish fixtures and final electrical components, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. Essential Skills Minimum of 5 years of experience as a journeyman electrician or full mechanic in commercial electrical construction. Strong proficiency in conduit bending, including EMT and heavy pipe, with the ability to execute precise and clean bends. Hands-on experience running conduit systems in commercial environments, including open-concept ceiling installations. Proven ability to pull MC and BX wiring and other electrical conductors in accordance with industry standards and local codes. Ability to read and interpret electrical prints, wiring schematics, and blueprints accurately. Experience installing lighting, fixtures, switchgear, and other electrical equipment on commercial job sites. Competence in electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving for construction and installation projects. OSHA 30 certification, with the ability to comply with highly regulated commercial job site requirements.SST 10 DOB

Ability to use a full set of hand tools and cordless drills required for electrical construction work. Background in non-union commercial subcontracting environments is beneficial. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverhead, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
