Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various industrial and commercial settings. Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in industrial and commercial environments, ensuring compliance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and local electrical building codes. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system layouts. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely and efficiently, including industrial motor maintenance, high-voltage distribution, and motor control equipment setup. Use hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic instruments to identify faults and measure electrical parameters. Conduct electrical diagnostics to troubleshoot complex issues involving low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and electrical building systems. Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, installations, and maintenance activities while adhering to electrical safety procedures. Collaborate with construction teams on site to ensure proper installation of electrical systems according to blueprints and specifications. Skills Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a strong background in commercial electrical systems. Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), and local electrical building codes. Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams accurately. Skilled in high-voltage wiring techniques for industrial applications; capable of handling high-voltage equipment safely. Strong troubleshooting skills utilizing voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools for electrical diagnostics. Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motor control equipment, industrial motor maintenance and repair. Familiarity with low voltage systems including security alarms, fire alarms, communication wiring, and other building automation systems. Ability to perform electrical installation tasks on construction sites while following safety protocols diligently. Knowledge of electrical safety procedures including lockout/tagout practices; committed to maintaining a safe working environment. Competence in using construction site tools such as frame carpentry hand tools alongside power tools for installation purposes.
